The RGLI Memorial Ride Group.
The RGLI Memorial Ride Group are motorcycle enthusiasts based Guernsey who organise and undertake an annual pilgrimage to the battlefields of Northern France which includes locations where the Royal Guernsey Light Infantry were present during their service in World War One. Many of the participants are veterans from the armed and civil services community.
In addition they organise a number of local meetings within the island, where all are welcome to join.
The objectives of the group are continued commemoration, friendship and remembrance and the Group are pleased to be part of the ongoing twinning activities between Guernsey and France.
The Group was founded in 2017 and is organised and managed by a team including Lt Col Colin Vaudin, Mrs Jenny Vaudin, Mr Martin Proudlove and Mrs Katrina Proudlove. The first visit was in May 2019 and following a two year gap due to global health restrictions they went again in May 2022 and also laid a wreath at the Menin Gate on behalf of Guernsey
