Commemorations continue on 104th Anniversary

The importance of commemorating continued this year in both Guernsey and Masnieres with services in both communes coordinated to the same time. In Masnieres the service was lead by the Mayor, Mr Francis Noblecourt and flowers were laid on behalf of the people of France by Veteran's President, Mr Rene Carpintier.

In Guernsey the Act of Remembrance and laying of wreathes was led by the Bailiff, Mr Richard McMahon, supported by Mr John Gollop (Father of the House), Mrs Zoe Lihou (St Peter Port Constable), Mme Odile Blanchette (Hon French Consul), Major Bob Place (Royal British Legion, Guernsey), Mr Chris Oliver (Royal British Legion, Sark) and Mr Martin Proudlove (RGLI Memorial Ride). The RGLI Charitable Trust wreath was laid on behalf of Blanchelande College by the Head Boy. The RGLI Trust are also grateful to the Band of Boys' Brigade for playing the Last Post and to Members of the RBL Standard Bearers who attended. (selected photographs courtesy of the Guernsey Press)
