Just two days left and once more we are off to Masnieres with the RGLI Student Exchange, but what a difference this year will be, Two Coaches and Two schools, our largest Group. They will be with Nick Le Huray well known local author who has been invited to open the schools translation project using his newly released book 'Tides of Defiance'. On Tuesday we will at last exchange on 16 Rue Verte putting this historic building back in to Guernsey hands and ready for the development into a cultral and exchange centre, complete with accomodation. Our investment in Masnieres will be explained at a Town Hall meeting with all the Residents as we tell them of our commitment and build on those who came before us.
Guernsey's charity cylce ride 'Only Fools and Donkey's' will also make a flying visit in Mansnieres with 55 cyclists and 10 suporting vehicle based staff.
They will see the RGLI Regimental Colours which will be the first time ever they have left the islands. This year students will lay wreathes at the RGLI Memorial and at the Menin Gate and listen to the historic Last Post, an unbroken tribute to those who did not make it home.
