Memorial Ride 2021
Time & Location
About the Event
This memorial ride remembers the sacrifice of the Royal Guernsey Light Infantry. Delayed from 2020 until 2021 due to COVID-19. The ride will travel from the RGLI memorial in St Peter Port to the Menin Gate visiting, and paying our respects, at Ginchy (attack of 6 and 7 RIR at the Somme 1916 including D Coy from the Guernsey Militia), Rues Verte (the stand of the RGLI during the Battle of Cambria 1917), Doulieu (the stand of the RGLI during the German Spring Offensive of 1918), and Tyne Cot Cemetery (the largest CWGC cemetery commenting over 11,000 Commonwealth dead including members of the RGLI). At the Menin Gate we have been granted the honour by the Last Post Association to lay a wreath. Updates will be made on the Memorial Rides page
