Masnieres ready for Liberation 80

The RGLI are delighted to announce that representatives from Masneres, twinned with St Peter Port, have been officially invited to participate in our Liberation 80 commemorations and celebrations this year.

Coming from the Department du Nord, town officials, teachers and children from the High School and Primary School of Masnieres will join the cavalcade, alongside the St Peter Port float on the afternoon of May 9th.

In addition they have been invited to attend the beacon lighting on VE Day, 8th May, plus Victor Hugo House and spend time talking with their counterparts.

A much larger schools contingent from Masnieres were here in April for the annual exchange. Blanchelande & St Sampsons student will visit Northern France on the now annual student exchange in June this year.
